Kilby's 140th Birthday
Kilby St Mary’s 140th Anniversary
The Right Reverend Timothy Stephens, Bishop of Leicester addressed pupils, parents, teachers and governors at Kilby St Mary’s Primary School in a special assembly to celebrate Kilby’s 140th Anniversary.
The Bishop read aloud a prayer, written by Lewis Stacey aged 8 and he then presented Lewis with a prize for Best School Prayer.
Parents and guests enjoyed a fun filled presentation by the pupils, including a dance of Alice In Wonderland by Year 5 and 6 pupils and a number of musical performances and poems. Bishop Tim then planted a commemorative tree with the help of Kilby’s School Council.
Guests were then invited to share Kilby’s special ‘1 4 0’ cake.
